According to our information, Nicolas Chambon, current Chairman of Socri REIM, will take over the reins of the family-owned Socri group in 2022. He will succeed his father, Henri Chambon (aged 83), founding chairman of the company specialising in property. “In accordance with the articles of association of Socri Promotions, in two years’ time I will calmly and vigilantly take over the chairmanship of the family group in accordance with the highest standards of governance and transparency,” Nicolas Chambon told Business Immo. “I have always worked and will always work to serve the common interests of our family holding company’s shareholders, with a view to ensuring fairness and maximising the value of our assets and activities. As always, I’ll be keeping out of controversy.” Between now and 2022, within his company, he says he will be “fully” devoting his energies, “alongside my teams, to the many development projects of Socri Limited and Socri REIM in Monaco, Miami, Montpellier, Nantes, Béziers and more recently Nîmes“. In addition, Henri Chambon has just handed over the reins of the operational holding company, Socri Immo, to his daughter Célia Chambon – previously Managing Director of the group’s hotel division. The announcement came as a surprise internally: the appointment, which was made in March, was not officially announced until 28 July. “The legal framework and the methods used raise questions about this communication and reorganisation operation by the Socri Promotions group,” says Nicolas Chambon. “However, I would like to wish every success to my sister, Célia Chambon, who until now has managed the group’s hotel division,” he continues. “We hope that her new operational functions within one of the group’s sub-holdings will be established in a climate of calm among the family shareholders, and that they will enable Socri Promotions to ensure financial stability and transitional governance alongside our father, at least until he reaches Socri Promotions’ statutory age limit at the end of 2021.” As a reminder, Henri Chambon’s children – Nicolas, Célia, Marie, Damien and Emma – jointly and equally hold all bare ownership shares in the capital of Socri Promotions.
